Mister International, is an annual male international beauty pageant. It is ranked 3rd among the big four male pageants in the world, which include Manhunt International, Mister World and Men Universe Model. It is not to be confused with the defunct Mister International, with the abbreviated M R form of mister in the name.
The competition is run by The Mister International Organization since 2006 in Singapore, with Alan Sim as its president. The same organization also manages the annual Mister Singapore pageant. The winner of Mister International traditionally, lives in Singapore for the duration of his reign.
Mister International has among the larget number of national level competitions. Eighty countries have so far sent representatives, since the first year of the pageant. The contest has an annual average participation of thirty eight per edition. The contestants are judged in three categories: swimwear, evening wear and interview as they vie for the title of Mister International.
The Mister International Organization seeks to
empower men, to develop the confidence they need to achieve their personal,
professional, and philanthropical best, as inspirational leaders and role
models. It prioritizes the importance of being involved, and giving back through
a dedicated international platform of charitable partnerships.
It was held yearly except for the years 2019 and
2020 when the staging were cancelled due to the outbreak of Covid 19. Between
2006 and 2020, the Mister International Title was awarded thirteen times.
We are about to begin with our Annual Winners
List, but please take note that in this listing, we are only taking into
account, the pageant year, the pageant winner, the country of origin, the
continent the country belongs to, the place the contest was held, and the
number of countries who participated that year. No ranking was given for runner
up positions.
That said, we begin with 2006. Wissam Hanna of Lebanon, snatched the title
of Mister International in the first edition of the pageant. The contest was
held in Singapore, and nineteen countries participated.
The next year 2007, Brazil’s Alan Bianco Martini
emerged the winner. The contest was held in Kuching, Malaysia, and seventeen
countries joined.
The following year 2008, Ngo Tien Doan of Vietnam
was named winner. The contest was held in Tainan, Taiwan with 30 countries
participating.
In 2009, Bruno Kettles of Bolivia won the title.
The contest was held in Taichung, Taiwan and 29 countries competed.
2010 was the year of Ryan Terry of Great
Britain. The contest was held in
Jakarta, Indonesia with forty competing countries.
In 2011 Cesar Curti took the title the second time for Brazil. The contest was held in Bangkok, Thailand with thirty three countries competing.
In 2012, Ali Hammoud of Lebanon took home the
title for his country for the second time. The contest was also held in
Bangkok, Thailand with thirty eight participating countries.
The next year 2013, Jose Amner Paredes of
Venezuela was declared winner. The contest took place once more in Jakarta,
Indonesia, this time with thirty eight participants.
2014, was the year Neil Perez clinched the title
for the Philippines. The pageant was held in Ansan, South Korea, twenty nine
countries competed.
The succeeding year 2015, Pedro Mendes of
Switzerland won. The contest was held the for first time in Manila, Philippines and thirty six countries
joined that year.
In 2016, victory went to Paul Iskandar, a record
third time for his country Lebanon. Held in Bangkok, Thailand also for the third
time. This batch consisted of thirty five countries.
In 2017, Seung Hwan Lee of South Korea, bagged
the title. The pageant was held in Yangon, Myanmar and thirty six countries
came to compete.
Finally in 2018, Thrin Van Bao was adjudged the winner, the second win for his country Vietnam. It was held, also the for second time in Manila, Philippines, with thirty nine official candidates.
